Ron Duguay was drafted 13th overall in the 1977 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers. In his rookie season with the Rangers, Duguay netted 20 goals and assisted on 20 others in the 1977-78 season. By the end of the 1976-77 season Greschner was a key figure in the Blueshirts' transition game and power play.
